Quick Start Guide

Downloading & Installing from FAB

We’ll be using the FAB in Launcher window, which allows assets to be imported directly into Unreal Engine.

If you don’t see FAB in your editor, follow the official Epic guide here.

Adding the Content to Your Project

For this guide we'll be using our Modern Guns Bundle pack, but the process is the same for all of our rigged model packs (see a full list of supported products here).

  • Open the FAB window inside Unreal Engine.

  • Navigate to Library and locate the Modern Guns Bundle (or any other supported art pack that you wish to use).

  • Press Add to Project, select the current engine version if prompted to, then press Add to Project again.

  • This will start downloading the content directly into your current project.

  • Once finished, you should see the ModernGunsBundle folder inside your project!

Using the Demo Content

Now that the content is installed, we can give it a quick test to make sure everything is working correctly.

Each product includes demo content such as example blueprints and maps. These examples make it easy to understand how the assets are intended to be used and how the overall setup works.

Demo Maps

The demo maps provide a quick overview of what is included in the pack and how the models fit into a gameplay scenario. They are useful for seeing how different parts attach, how they align, and how the assets are structured.

You can find them here:

InfimaGames > ProductName > Demo > Maps

Note: The exact folder path may vary slightly between products.

Blueprint Examples

You can also take a look at the included blueprint examples to quickly understand how the models are intended to be set up.

These examples show different configurations, such as a default weapon with no attachments and a version with attachments already in place. You can use these blueprints directly in your own projects, or simply study them to learn how the setup works.

You can find them here:

InfimaGames > ProductName > Demo > Blueprint

Note: The exact folder path may vary slightly between products.

Using the Blender Source Files

Downloading

The products include Blender source files that allow you to create your own animations. These files contain the mannequin rig along with first-person and third-person example setups.

If you want to learn how to export animations from Blender to Unreal Engine, you can check out our guide here.

  • Downloading the Blender source files is very simple. Go to the FAB product page for your pack and click the Download button.

  • Under Included formats, you will find all available downloads.

  • Look for the file named: blender_source_files_moderngunsbundle.zip

Note: The file name will vary depending on your product.

Extracting

  • After downloading, extract the ZIP file. Inside, you will find all of the source files organized into folders based on asset type, such as animations, meshes, rigs, and textures.

Folder Overview

  • Here is a quick breakdown of each folder and what they include:

    • Animations

      • Contains pre-made example animations, including first-person and third-person idle poses.

    • Meshes

      • Includes exported FBX files of the weapon models.

    • Rigs

      • Contains the weapon rig used for animation. You can modify the bone structure, adjust sockets, or use it as a base for creating new animations.

    • Textures

      • Includes the texture files used by the materials.

  • If you are new to using Blender for animation, we recommend checking out our video guides on creating first-person animations. It provides a helpful introduction to the workflow.

  • Feel free to study the included animation examples and use them as a starting point for creating your own custom animations!
